Trees capture and absorb carbon dioxide from the air while releasing oxygen in its place. They truly are nature's air cleaners. As Vonder continues to strive to better the planet we live on, we have partnered with THG (more : trees) in order to plant a tree for every new member, and do our bit to combat climate change.
Vonder is committed to sustainability, and is constantly looking for new ways to make sustainable actions part of our everyday operations within our locations as well as out in the world around us. With THG (more : trees) we are able to take impactful climate action and help sequester carbon dioxide, to secure the future of our planet for generations to come.
One tree sequesters an estimated 0.3t of CO2 over its lifespan. However, THG (more : tree) is here to inform us that that’s far from their only benefit. They also:
Nourish our planet
Trees clean the air, filter water, regulate rainfall, improve soil quality, offer shelter and reduce flooding.
Reduce extreme poverty
Trees provide work, improve crop yield, generate income sources and help the local economy.
Support biodiversity
Trees support different species of animals, invertebrates, plants, fungi, lichens, and mosses.
Reverse deforestation
Trees help healthy forests re-emerge, restore animal habitats, purify water sources, replenish soil, control flooding and improve weather patterns.
Climate change is a real and scary threat to our planet, but if we all make a small change, we can make a big impact. Last year Vonder planted 101 trees, which equates to an estimated 30.3 tonnes of future CO2 sequestration. Our initiative considers every new Vonder member in EVERY location, whether you are looking for flats to rent in north London, or furnished apartments for rent in Berlin, or a co living Leeds apartment we’ll have you covered with a brand new tree planted in your honour.
