Warsaw’s skyline is forever changed with the completion of the 310-metre-tall Varso Tower in downtown Warsaw.
Measuring in as the European Union's tallest building, beating the previous record holder - the 259-metre-tall Commerzbank Tower in Frankfurt, Varso Tower is a sight to behold. The skyscraper, which houses offices, restaurants, retail facilities and a sky garden is situated just a 30-minute walk from Vonder UpRiver and a simple 15-minute tram ride from Vonder UpTown. It is located in central Warsaw on a site next to the city's Warsaw Central Railway Station, and forms part of the three-tower business hub Varso Place development. The scale of positive changes in this part of the Warsaw city centre has been enormous.
As you enter this unique space, a feature worth admiring is the 10-metre-high ceramic artwork by the local artist Krystyna Kaszuba-Wacławek, which beautifully decorates the tower's lobby; it is not an ordinary decoration – it is an element that contributes to the ambience of the place. Krystyna used over 1,800 hand-made and glazed ceramic tiles in shades of blue and terracotta, with each going through a very meticulous creative process.
From the lobby right up to the top - visitors can access a public observation deck at 230 metres above the ground. Take in the breath-taking views of Warsaw from heights only previously dreamt about. This observation deck is twice as high as the popular viewing platform at the Palace of Culture and Science.
