This week we’re shining the spotlight on the beautiful residential area of Marylebone, where our Vonder Wimpole building is located. Without a doubt there is no shortage of walkable attractions from this building, and with Bond Street Station a 6-minute walk away, access to all of London couldn’t be easier. Here we focus on 4 not to be missed attractions within the neighbourhood.
Java Whiskers
0.4 miles - 9-minute walk
To say Java Whiskers is unique is an understatement. As the only cat café in Europe with a kitten lounge, it truly is a special spot. If cats, coffee and cake are your cup of tea then this is a cafe not to be missed!
As stated on their website “Our café offers guests the opportunity to slow down and relax, while enjoying the purring company of our feline residents, helping to ease stress and decrease loneliness. Whilst the cats get the attention and love they’re craving, and for the souls that experience hardship earlier in life, they get a chance to rebuild trust in humans.”
The café is actually a foster home for homeless cats, meaning every little furry bundle you meet there is in need of a loving, forever home, so don’t feel scared that you may fall in love with one of them. The cafe has gone on to rehome 203 cats, and following on from the success of the concept, are opening up another branch later in the year.
The Ivy
0.2 miles - 3-minute walk
There’s no beating around the bush here - The Ivy Café Marylebone is definitely a higher-end restaurant than most. But if you are looking for a really special place to celebrate or treat yourself, you really can’t go wrong with this exquisite location, and it's only a 3-minute walk away! Bonus.
Described as a more intimate version of The Ivy, the overall feel of the establishment is cosy yet still upmarket. This restaurant can truly deliver - the venue, staff, and food all get top-notch ratings, and if you find yourself looking for a treat, head this way.
The Regent’s Park
0.5 miles - 10-minute walk
After a pleasant 10-minute walk you will be standing at the gates to one of London's largest and most beautiful open spaces. The Regent's Park is the largest grass area for sports in Central London and offers a wide variety of activities. There is an Open Air Theatre, the London Zoo, gardens, and a boating lake. When you find yourself in need of some nature, greenery and space look no further.
Simmons Bar
0.7 miles - 14-minute walk
Ok, technically further than the 10-minute walk we promised, but you won't regret it! And after a night of cocktails and live music at Simmons Bar, the walk back will feel like 3 minutes. Described as the best bar in London, it has a raised DJ booth and a dance floor surrounded by leather booths, blaring neon lights and a larger-than-life fairground feel. Join them daily for their 5hr Happy Hour from 3pm until 8pm, there is fun to be had at this spot!
Not only is the neighbourhood one of a kind, but the incredible property itself is gorgeous.
